	Donate a house With a donation of $2500 USD, a small house will be built for an AIDS-affected family and / or a family of Orphans and vulnerable children.	$2500 USD
	Donate a Communal Shower / Laundry / Storage Building With a donation of $1000 USD, a communal shower, laundry and storage building will be built to serve a group eight AIDS-affected families and a families of Orphans and vulnerable children.	$1000 USD
	Donate a Urine Diversion Dehydrating Toilet With a donation of $500 USD, a Urine Diversion Dehydrating Toilet (UDDT) will be built for an AIDS-affected family and / or a family of Orphans and vulnerable children. The toilet will provide high quality fertilizer in the form of urine mixed 9:1 with greywater and the feces dehydrated and free of pathogens after six months. These toilets have two separate vaults for feces storage.	$500 USD
	Donate a 2000 litre Rain Harvest Tank With a donation of $200 USD, a 2000 litre Rain Harvest tank will be purchased and installed at the home of an AIDS-affected family and / or a family of Orphans and vulnerable children.	$200 USD
	Solar LED House Lighting System A solar LED light system will save a family 10,000 Tsh per month on the cost of kerosene for lighting and thereby prevent health and safety dangers from the kerosene lamps.  Another feature is a cell phone charger which can save a family 2,000 Tsh per month.  Product specifications: Solar charging 2 lights, individual switchable, 10 LEDs per light point  4 hours usage per charge using both lights 3W Poly-crystalline silicon solar panel,  lead acid battery.	$100 USD
	Fuel Efficient Charcoal Stove Charcoal is the fuel of choice for a large proportion of households in Tanzania, however, charcoal consumption is responsible for a great deal of deforestation. This fuel efficient stove is fitted with a ceramic liner to improve fuel efficiency by up to 50% over the traditional coal pot. The saving to a family is estimated to be 45,000 Tsh per year.	$25 USD

Making a Difference:

Through its extensive experience in working with AIDS-affected families and families of orphans and vulnerable children, the CCT has come to realize that a solution is needed to provide these ‘victims’ with safe and secure housing and a means to attain a degree of financial security. The Land for Life Project, in addition to providing housing thereby saving approximately 10,000 Tsh per month in rent, will also provide money saving technologies. Solar LED Lights are expected to save a family from 5000 to 10000 Tsh spent per month on Kerosene for lighting. Since the solar system also charges cell phones, this could be a net saving of 1200 to as much as 3000 Tsh per month. Given that the potential beneficiaries earn approximately 30,000 Tsh per month, these savings are significant. The beneficiaries will be trained in Intensive Gardening techniques and also how to raise chickens and milking goats and market eggs and milk. In addition to providing a much needed extra source of income, the produce will also enhance the beneficiaries’ diet.

Land for Life Project

This project will build clusters of eight homes and a communal shower / laundry building on the land being provided by various Districts in Tanzania. The reason for the eight home cooperative model is because of the need for mutual security.  The groups of eight homes will  be built in a hollow square.  All homes would face a common centre courtyard.  The eight home cluster will include land for communal gardens, coops for chickens and pens for milking goats.  Two NGOs that CCT will partner with, Floresta and Heifer, provide training on intensive gardening and care / feeding and marketing of chickens and livestock respectively.  Also the cluster of eight homes would have four separate smaller buildings each housing a Urine Diversion Dehydration Toilet (UDDT)  A separate communal building in the centre of the square would have two rooms with showers and sinks.  A cement pad connected to the side of the building would serve as a laundry area, with an external tap on the wall.  This communal  shower/ wash / laundry building will allow the capture and reuse of greywater for the gardens and fruit trees.  The UDDTs will provide high quality fertilizer in the form of urine mixed one part urine with nine parts greywater and the feces dehydrated and free of pathogens after six months.
